The Palm Court
In 1989, Royal Guest Hotels bought property on the corner of Third and D streets in Downtown Davis. The land included a large home owned by Jane Chapman, an early and longtime Davis resident. There was a beautiful white picket fence around the original property, and an old growth magnolia tree. The home was of great historical value to the City of Davis, and was moved to another location in order to preserve it. The original white picket fence now surrounds the well know Hattie-Weber Museum in Davis. The Magnolia tree was planted in front of the historical library in Central Park for Davis residents to continue to enjoy.
Construction began on the Best Western Plus Palm Court Hotel in 1992. It took two years for the construction team to complete the project, which included twenty-seven guest room suites, Davis’ first underground parking structure, and retail space on the first floor. In 1994, the hotel opened its doors and since then many notable dignitaries, celebrities, and visitors of Davis have stayed in the all-suite hotel.
In 2016, The Palm Court began its million dollar renovation process. All of the hotels suites have been updated to reflect a comfortable yet modern stay. Our newly renovated lobby offers guests a state-of-the-art technology center, updated sitting area, and reservations area.
The hotel remains well known as an upscale choice for visitors of Davis. The ownership team is dedicated to providing guests the most luxurious hotel experience. A full renovation is planned in the year to come!
